Upper KS2
Welcome to Upper Key Stage Two,
In our key stage the children are aged between 10 and 11. From September we will have three mixed Year 5 and Year 6 classes. Each class will be lead by a class teacher with support staff shared across the phase to support the needs of children. This means that support staff will work in more than one of the classes with a range of children.
Start and finish times for each class. Please can we remind you to bring and collect your child at their allocated time to avoid a build up of adults and children on the school grounds.

Reading
Please support us in school by listening to your child read at least fourtimes a week and record this in their reading log. Reading logs can be brought into school from a Wednesday to be stamped in class. We also encourage children to access the Read Theory website to support their reading comprehension.
Spelling
Please help your children practise any spellings sent home these can also be practised using spelling shed. Find below a list of year 5 and 6 statutory spellings that children are expected to know.

Times tables
Children are encouraged to learn and apply their knowledge of their times tables effectively to solve problems. To help the children with this we use the fantastic website - Times Table Rockstars.
